The artistic chemistry of the girls on stage was clearly evident on that day. N April of 2003 Jimenez and Santos combined their talents on stage during Aventura’s La Guerra single release party. Little did Marlyn know that this was just the beginning of a successful run in her career in music.
Marlyn’s exceptional vocal performance on Don’t Speak gained the attention and support from some of New York’s most popular DJ’s, including Johnny Famolari, Nori Cotto, DJ Fresh, Alex Sensation and Polito Vega. The group became one of the top acts of Alternative Bachata in 2003 with their mega- hit single Don’t Speak, a brilliant remake of No Doubt’s chart topping song. A few months later Jimenez joined them and immediately fit in. In the summer of 2002 Jimenez was introduced to Arjelis y su Grupo NV, who at that time were in search of a new vocalist. Marlyn Jimenez has been singing since the tender age of 11 years old. The music world needed no more proof that Judy has what it takes to capture the hearts of the masses in song. Her intense, yet sweet and angelic vocals, were also featured on two other Aventura songs La Guerra and Angelito, both of which were chart topping hits. Some say that Judy’s flawless performance on Obsesion helped pave the way for Aventura’s successful run in the music industry. Judy’s incredible voice caught the attention of lead singer Anthony “Romeo” Santos, who immediately featured her on their mega-hit single Obsesion.
